A Full-Service Bakery Specializing in Cakes and Ethnic Food
In business for over 60 years, Rudy's has become a staple in Northeast Ohio. Recognized in the Sun Post, Plain Dealer, and local television stations, Rudy's is truly a one of a kind shop.
In 1966, Ukrainian native Eugenia Polatajko came to the United States with $10 in her pocket to explore the land of opportunity. Today, Polatajko owns Rudy’s Strudel Shop and Bakery that brings a touch of European heritage to her Parma neighborhood. Her strudel has been named Cleveland’s best in several competitions, and more recently she received the Cleveland Senior Council’s Pinnacle Award, which goes to each year to the group’s most outstanding entrepreneur.
Before she bought the strudel shop, Polatajko taught Eastern European cooking classes for an adult education program sponsored by the Parma City Schools. The interest in the ethnic courses was overwhelming, as more than 200 people signed up for her first class, designed for only 20 students.
